The Versatile Brigade
You can be fashionable, but stylish, I doubt. Frankly, job of a stylist is difficult. Everybody wants to look different, attractive, but little do people realize its a process. You cannot look stylish in a day. Its about reinventing each and everyday, and making a statement that creates a lasting impression.
Ok, with that note let me begin my post..
My personal style is simple. I repeat my clothes and yes its no crime. I style my clothes differently each and every time I wear them. I love wearing plain colored clothes as I can easily transform them into different looks by pairing with striking accessories. It can be by stacking silver bangles, adding a waistcoat, donning a statement necklace or just adding a bright lipstick.
But, there are a few things I cannot imagine my wardrobe without and I am listing out those items for you. I call them The Versatile Brigade. (please note some of the items marked in blue are applicable to guys as well..)
White Shirt: I know I am sounding like a broken record here but a white shirt is an absolute must-have.
Denim shirt: The broken record continues. I love love love a smart denim shirt. You can pair it with almost everything...cotton pants, denims, colored pants, capris, shorts, skirts, as a jacket over cotton dresses.....
|With Oxblood pants, Shirt: Hill Road|
A Sweat Shirt: They are sooooo comfortable...An absolute wardrobe staple.
Black Trousers: Need I say more...
The Little Black Dress: One can never underestimate the power of a little black dress. Coco Chanel stressed enough but, I am just doing my bit here. This Vero Moda dress is my saviour for most occasions. I pair it with blazers, flats, heels, statement jewellery, oxfords and sometimes also wear it as a top..
Black footwear: brogues, pumps, ballerinas. You name it and I have it.. I am closed-shoes kinda person.
A tote bag/A structured leather bag: I usually use a black one but, these days I am obsessed with camel-colored/brown totes. I can carry my world in this bag and its just perfect.
|My recent purchase in Platinum Mall, Thailand|
Aviators: I love the way they are designed to suit any face shape. Gold rimmed or all black, aviators surely have made a place in my versatile brigade.
Leather strap watch: No outfit is complete without a classy leather-strap watch. I recently bought a brown strap rectangle dial watch from Citizen and I am obsessed.
What is that one item that doesn't leave your closet, EVER. Let all the readers know in the comments section.
Hope you guys find this post useful...
